It’s clear (and very well documented) that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy quickly became something far more ambitious and time-consuming than the Uncharted 4 team, originally planned for. Naughty Dog might have good reason within their walls, to do something like I’m postulating too. I really believe Naughty Dog goes the way of Sony Santa Monica (God of War) and takes a break after a hugely successful launch - and then gets to work on whatever AAA title is next. Obviously the multiplayer will get maps and guns and skins, etc.Īfter thinking about this topic way too much, my answer is pretty boring: I don’t think there will be any single-player DLC. Of course you can still play the full game first and then try the DLC, that works, but if you want to play it in order then this is the way to go. If you play it this way it will make sense chronologically and be the best way to experience it.ĭefinitely do not play it first before you play the full game again as you won’t remember certain things and you might miss out on references and the likes. While the DLC does contain moments serving as a prequel, the way it is set out is that it actually takes place just before winter with flashbacks to the prequel moments. So as the one section ends and it becomes winter (you know the part), jump out and go play the DLC, then return to the main game. For those who have finished the game already and are playing it for a second (or third or fourth) time, but have not played the DLC, I highly recommend you play the DLC leading up to winter. The DLC does contain sections which function as a prequel so you might think playing it first would work, or playing it in the middle would, but without the full story in mind some of the DLC bits won’t make sense, and there might be some spoilers in there.įor those that finished the game but never played the DLC In terms of the DLC, the answer is simple, you need to play it only after you finish the main game. Never played the game before and/or have not finished the gameįor those that have never had the absolute pleasure of playing TLOU before and for those that have, you are in for one hell of an experience. The DLC placement is dependent on whether you have finished the game or not so I will split it into two sections to explain. It is, to date, the only DLC I have ever played which is a good enough reason if any. Second of all let me say that the DLC is brilliant and very much worth the while of playing. Of all the DLC, only one piece of it focuses on the single player experience, and that is the Left Behind DLC.
The Last of Us: Remastered releases this week and as everyone knows, it does contain all the DLC included into one package.
